We were appointed to assist in the development of David Austin’s 2026 RHS Chelsea Rose Garden. The design draws on traditional rose garden principles, with strong axial geometry, layered textures, and varied heights, while allowing for fluid, interactive movement throughout the space.
At the heart of the garden, a curved drystone wall frames ornate gates, forming the principal vista and focal point. Behind this, a water feature adds movement, reflection, and sound, enriching the sensory experience.
The wider garden uses box hedging, gravel pathways, and low woven hurdle planters to structure the space and support intimate rose displays. Encircling this is a circular outer garden of twelve rose arches, forming a floral tunnel that guides visitors through layers of colour and fragrance before entering the central garden.
