The Studio

We are a leading landscape design practice renowned for creating atmospheric gardens that feel profoundly rooted in their setting. Spaces full of emotion, quiet beauty, and effortless functionality.

Outdoor patio with concrete floor, wooden dining table, seating area with fire pit, large rocks and water, surrounded by lush trees and plants, contemporary architecture around a modern garden in Ludlow, Shropshire, designed by George William Flynn

We partner closely with clients, architects, and interior designers to create outdoor spaces that connect your home seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, softening the transition between indoors and out, so everyday living feels more open, calm, and in tune with nature.

At the heart of our approach is a strong sense of place, shaping gardens and landscapes that feel intrinsic to their setting, as though they have always belonged. We combine generous, textural planting that brings life and seasonal interest with clean lines, balanced proportions, and refined detailing of contemporary design, creating spaces that are both beautiful and functional.

Well-considered outdoor environments do more than look good; they quietly support wellbeing by providing peaceful, restorative places to unwind and recharge, while also enhancing the overall appeal, biodiversity and long-term value of your home.

Our process is shaped around your specific needs and the distinct character of your site. We select durable, beautiful materials, develop planting plans tailored to your climate, lifestyle, and maintenance preferences, and refine every detail so the finished space feels intuitive, functional, and stands the test of time.

Across projects of every scale, from intimate courtyards to extensive estates, we work to the same principles—authentic design, considered functionality, and a gentle integration with the natural environment that supports daily living.

George is a Landscape Architect with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Sheffield. After honing his craft at prominent London practices, he established his own studio, bringing a personal and considered approach to garden design.
