Shortwood Cottage
Simple and subtle design interventions helped to transform this garden into a beautiful useable landscape. With enchanting wooded backdrops, stunning views and mature specimen trees throughout it was a garden in need of enhancement not transformation.
Extensive herbaceous borders full of ornamental grasses and tall flowering perennials help to subtly link the garden flora to that found growing wildly in the adjoining woodland / meadows. Grasses such as Molinia caerulea 'Moorhexe' & Melica altissima 'Alba' mixed with a variety of Astrantia's and ornamental Papaver help add to this strong connection.
Clay lined ponds where created with the spoil used to construct interesting landform sculptures. These reflective pools also act as enjoyable places for the clients dogs to splash around in during summer days.
